I'm back...

Hey guys. Well, I missed 18 days of photos. Instead of posting my make up pics all at once, I'll do it a little at a time each day for the next week or so.

This is the mud season version of my driveway:

And, finally. My son called his friend into the bathroom a few minutes ago. I got a little nervous when I heard snickering from within. This is what they found so amusing. I must admit...so do I. They're 13; they have an excuse. I'm 37. I have none.

...during a horrible ice storm?

Well, she's gonna write...naturally.

Script Frenzy kicks off in 26 days. I'm going to spend the month of April adapting my novel, Waiting For Spring, into a screenplay. Which means I'll spend the next 26 days making an extensive outline for said screenplay. Here is everything I need for that:

1.) A detailed outline of my novel.
2.) My lucky writing sweater.
3.) Pencil, pens, highlighting markers.
4.) Notebook.
5.) Flashlight. (Did I mention that the power was out when I took this photo?)

Buried

We had to have the snow bank in our dooryard pushed back to make room for the storm we're going to get this weekend. Another 6-12 inches is predicted. Now we really can't get to the shed.

I think I want to move to South Africa. Elle...can I stay with you for awhile????

There's a box I need in the shed. I think I can wait until spring, though.

January Thaw Part 2

Last autumn was a little crazy with illnesses and injuries. As a result I completely forgot to store my lawn ornaments in the shed.

Fortunately I remembered to bring my real kids inside for the winter...

Don't know what'cha got till it's gone

Our pipes froze this morning, so I took this picture of our lovely bathroom faucet with it's glorious, clear running water this evening to remind myself to NEVER take the little things for granted.

I probably still will, though.

Nor'Easter

This is my pathway at 12:01 A.M. It was the fourth time I'd shoveled it during our storm.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, my buddy Elle is melting in the heat.

January Thaw

My daughter found this stem of [insert name of currently unidentified flower/plant here] on our lawn this afternoon, in a puddle of melting snow.

UPDATE:

According to Keni, "It's called 'Honesty.' It's also known as 'Money Plant.'"

Flexibility

I was supposed to go to Brewer to go shopping today. ("Shoulda bought it when I saw(r) it at Mardens.") I was going to snap a picture of the faux Little Round Top/Joshua Chamberlain statue at Chamberlain Freedom Park while I was there. I was going to post said photo here. Even more importantly, I was going to swing through the Taco Bell drive thru on my way back home and have a delicious Burrito Supreme® for lunch.

Sadly, the weather had other ideas. Snow, sleet, freezing rain. Those things might not keep the mailman/mailwoman from his/her appointed rounds, but they sure as hell keep me from driving into Brewer. And so...I was stuck doing my laundry.
