At one time, Dexter Shoe Company employed nearly 1500 people in Dexter, Maine (population 5000). Now it's a warehouse, and most of those jobs are in Puerto Rico.

It is so sad. I do remember a working Maine. Then again the river in Brunswick was covered in brown foam from all the polution. Today they can canoe and fish on it.
